Parque Natural de El Montgó
 

Overview
The Montgo Natural Park is an isolated rocky ridge on the coast between Denia and Javea. The park rises to 753 metres above sea level and covers 2,150ha.

Walking
The information desk for the park is located in the Finca Torrequemada close to Dénia. There are Short Distance Trails (PR V 152) or the green route which are all signposted and range from low to medium difficulty. One of the walks will take you to the Cova de l’Aigua (Water Cave) or the Cova del Camell (Camel Cave). There is also beautiful high path which runs down Montgo to the Cape of San Antonio

Sightseeing
The tourist towns of Alicante and Denia are close by.

Animals/Birds
Animals found here include wild boar, genets, lizard, foxes, rabbit, badger. Seabirds such as the yellow legged seagull or the Audouin seagull inhabit here, along with, crows, ravens and birds of prey (the partridge eagle, a couple of royal owls, popular kestrel and the pilgrim falcon).

Plants
Over 600 species have been recorded in the Montgo Natural Park such as heathers and Mediterranean herbs.
