Overview
The Sabinar de Calatañazor Natural Reserve is home to one of the best preserved junipers woods on the planet. It is located in Soria near the village of Calatanazor. The woods contain some trees that are over 2,000 years old, reach up to 14 metres high and are more than five metres in diameter. The area covers a total of 30ha.

Sightseeing
The village of Calatañazor is close by. The medieval village is extremely beautiful, with its narrow stone streets and beamed houses. It is surrounded by a precipice and overlooked by its castle. The portico’s of the houses have been built out of adobe and juniper.

Animals/Birds
Mammals include, badgers, roe deer and wild boars.

Plants
Incense juniper woods, along with lavender, thyme, rosemary and majoram.
