Las Tuerces Natural Space
 

Overview
Las Tuerces is situated to the north of Palencia and covers an area of 782ha. Its landscape has been formed by karstic erosion which has left incredible natural arches, bridges and mushroom shapes.

Sightseeing
The Cañon de la Horadada is a deep gorge with the river Pisuerga running through it. Its walls are full of caves some of which date back to prehistoric times. This area also contains the ruins of the Monasterio de Santa María de las Tuerces.

Animals/Birds
There are many birds of prey including buzzards.

Plants
Holm oaks, junipers and other interesting rock species.
